Prospect Types:
Using the Prospect Type field allows you to group prospects together. The default letter used when adding a prospect is E, which stands for End User. A D in this field represents a Dealer. You may use any of the other 24 letters of the alphabet to mean whatever you want. For example, V could mean vendors or T for truckers or R for riggers.
However, if you give a prospect a numeric prospect type, it will not show up unless asked for it. This is done to keep personal (the people in the company, family or friends) separate from business. To bring up a prospect with a numerical type, you need to enter the prospect type, followed by a backslash and then the first letter of the name.
Ex:
2 \ S
This will bring up any prospects with the type of 2 that begin with S.
You may also use this method for prospect types that are letters.
Ex:
D \ H
This will bring up all dealers that begin with H.
Merging Prospects:
In the TARGET system, it is possible to merge two prospects together. In the event that the same prospect is entered twice with different spellings or two companies merge into one, you may choose to eliminate one from the system, but keep their tracking details.
To Merge Tracking Data for Two Prospects:Deleting Prospects:
Once you have merged two prospects together, you can delete the prospect you no longer want in the system.
To Delete a Prospect from Prospect Maintenance:NOTE: The system will not allow you to delete a prospect with tracking details. If you try, a message will appear saying "Unable to delete. Open details."
