Exporting data - import to PalmOS

The data you export from TARGET can be easily imported into your PalmOS-based handheld device. We assume the same is true of the WindowsCE-based devices (like IPAQ) but do not support them.

To import the TARGET database into your PalmOS device, first create the prospect.txt file as described in the general exporting instructions and move it to your Windows machine. Then bring up the PalmOS desktop, switch to the address book application, and do the following:

Select File, Import
Change the file type to "comma separated csv"
Use the file window to find your prospect.txt file
Click the prospect.txt file, then click Import
On the field mapping screen, change the field order to
- Company
- Address
- Title (uncheck this)
- First name (uncheck this)
- City
- State
- ZIP
- Country
- Last name
- Work
- Email
- Custom 1
- Fax
Click OK

When you have finished, your TARGET data will appear as if by magic in your address book. Sync your handheld as usual and life will be good.
