TARGET Revision 25.1
Jul 2011
1. XINFO field on machines: there are a number of changes in the system to enhance the application of the XINFO field on
machines. The files involved in this process are found in the /extras folder on your TARGET system.
a) Back office 88/11 Control Maintenance has a new variable added. XINFOF specifies the action to take on machines when they are
first entered or the type is changed. The contents of the data field is in the format iks where the three positions correspond
to the three types of machines in the TARGET system. Each position can have one of these choices: N=no file, G=general file,
C=category file, S=specialty file.
The general file name is always "general.pdf" and the category files are category.pdf (eg; P5102.pdf). Specialty files are
4-digit UEN specialties (eg; 4646.pdf for lathes).
b) The UEN exchange program (77,11) will now check and update any of the files found in the /extras folder.
c) Machine entry (F9) will now check the XINFOF variable and set the appropriate xinfo file into the machine record. Machine
Maintenance (back office 41) will allow changing this file name.
d) Machine acquisition will change the XINFO filename only if the current filename matches the specification for the current
type. If not, the system assumes it was changed on purpose and will not change it.
e) It's not really a TARGET function, but the UEN inventory display system has been changed to display both the XINFO file and
the standard PDF file more prominently. We've also changed the wording for the standard PDF link to make it a bit more appealing.
Note that if there is an XINFO file specified for the machine and it doesn't exist on UEN, the link will not be displayed.
2. Due to popular demand, we put back the 5th sort field on the Machine Inquiry and Machine Maintenance screens.
3. The "three field changer" in the back office prospect menu is now the "four field changer" since it can also now change the
area/region field.
4. The secret keystroke in F8 (shhhh, it's the equal sign) is now defaulted to ON if the user has full display enabled in user
maintenance.
