TARGET Revision 17.2 Release Notes

May 2003

1. A new function key combination is available wherever the other sales function keys are available. CONTROL-F8 will now go to Machine Inquiry, directly to the category name search. This is in addition to the standard F8 and SHIFT-F8 keys.

2. TARGET can now store PDF files for each machine in the same fashion as JPG and MPG files. There is a new directory (folder to you Windows people) on the TARGET server called "PDF". Use the Session, Transfer method to move machine-specific PDFs to this directory just as you do with pictures and movies. The PDFs will be updated to UEN and displayed as part of UEN and your web page inventory.

3. A new control variable WEBINV is used to tell TARGET if you use the HSI/UEN method of displaying inventory on your web site (and why would you not??). By default, this is set to Y.

4. If WEBINV=Y, a new function is available in F8. In the same way that the P key brings up the picture of the machine, the W key will now bring up the appropriate page from your website that shows that machine.

5. If WEBINV=Y, the bulk e-mail reports (price list, inventory list, for-sale list) will now include a link to the web page for each machine as a part of the display of the machine. Send one to yourself and check it out.

6. The UEN limit for movies and PDFs has been increased to 2.5Mb, so TARGET has been adjusted to match these limits. We still recommend keeping the files as small as possible since download times may be quite long for some users with slow connections.

7. Prospect Maintenance (F3) now has the same auto-ENTER function as was added to F4 in the last update.

8. Bulk e-mail of a multiwrite document allows attaching a file (picture, PDF, Word Doc, whatever). The file must have been moved to the TARGET server (Session, Transfer) first.

9. In Correspondence (F11), you may now also attach a file to an e-mailed letter or multiwrite document.

10. The Quote (F5) program now displays all data fields, including boiler plate selections, as soon as the machine number is entered.

11. A new control variable, DLRDIS, now gives the default percentage dealer discount for newly- entered dealers.
